So, these inserts were highly recommended from a knowledgeable massage therapist who found out about them from her podiatrist...but I was doubtful about how they might help my chronic arch pain. Orthotics, a wide variety of special inserts, and very expensive shoes recommended by athletic shoe specialists no longer seemed to be allowing me to do my very favorite thing...hiking. At sixty years old I was thinking that I might just have to give up my passion, when I decided to give the Protalus inserts a try. (The 90 day full refund feature convinced me.) I was surprised by how comfortable they first felt as opposed to orthotics because of the "give" they allow. The high "heel cup" was a real game-changer for me, as I need stability in my heels, and with Protalus there was no more friction/rubbing in my sore area that the orthotics created. Now I can't say I had instant relief...I have had the inserts for about a month now. But a month ago, prior to the inserts, I had pain and/or throbbing every step when I walked, and if I moved certain ways it created a bad burning sensation. Now, with the inserts, (used in conjunction with epsom soaks, massage, and ice after exertion) it allows me to hike up to an hour pain-free everyday... and still be plenty active for the rest of the day! And just to clarify, I had been doing the massage, soaking and ice prior to using the inserts with little to no improvement for months, so the inserts have been a real life change for me! I am so grateful to the designer of Protalus inserts--you really have made my feet and life so much happier! ;)))
